#DesignCompetition at the German Embassy – win a four week long trip to Germany!


A Buddy Bear is coming to Abuja and we are looking for a professional or semi-professional artist to design it!
Everything started in Berlin in June 2001. Since then the Buddy Bears have become likeable ambassadors for tolerance, cultural exchange and peaceful coexistence.  

The first price is a four-week long residency programme in Germany from the Sylt Foundation worth around 4,000 EUR.
Materials and travel expenses for the painting of the Buddy Bear will be refunded by the Embassy up to a maximum amount.
The second and third runner up will win a prize of 40,000 Naira each.
The best 15 designs will also be exhibited at the German Embassy in Abuja.
Entry deadline is 30 September 2015 at midnight.

​In just one week, we have witnessed two or three trending stories of fake rape allegations that have shaken the public trust. One young woman accused an anonymous man of raping her (for which she survived drinking Sniper) and created a fake support account, successfully mobilizing influencers, celebrities, and activists to rally behind her. In the second story a young man was specifically named and immediately arrested. Only God knows the psychological and physical trauma and abuse he endured before the young woman who accused him finally confessed that the entire story was a lie. While these incidents may point to underlying mental health issues and perhaps, carefully thought out wicked plans to harm others, it does not change a fundamental truth: rape should never be a joke.
