Mirabel VDM - How False Rape Stories Silence Real Survivors and Destroy Lives

In just one week, we have witnessed two or three trending stories of fake rape allegations that have shaken the public trust. One young woman accused an anonymous man of raping her (for which she survived drinking Sniper) and created a fake support account, successfully mobilizing influencers, celebrities, and activists to rally behind her. In the second story a young man was specifically named and immediately arrested. Only God knows the psychological and physical trauma and abuse he endured before the young woman who accused him finally confessed that the entire story was a lie.

While these incidents may point to underlying mental health issues and perhaps, carefully thought out wicked plans to harm others, it does not change a fundamental truth: rape should never be a joke. Many men have been canceled for making rape jokes and many more are in prison from false accusations.

The lies of these women trended so wildly that it triggered action from the police, healthcare providers, and the public. What they have done could inspire more people to create more "rape skits", dangerously watering down the severity of rape, providing cover for actual rapists and casting a shadow of doubt over real incidents.

Whether male or female, no one should ever joke with or weaponize rape. For true survivors, hearing a fake rape story is a devastating experience. It forces them to relive their own trauma through a lens of mockery and creates a situation where their greatest fear of not being believed is reinforced. When a "cry for help" is revealed to be a hoax, it builds a wall of skepticism that every future survivor will have to climb. It suggests that rape is a narrative to be manipulated rather than a life-altering crime, ultimately silencing those who are already struggling to find their voice.

Is there a penalty for making false rape to accusations; something to stop this trend and make people understand the seriousness of rape? If they have lied under oath, it should be punishable. But I don't know if there are repercussions of making rape jokes or skits.
