Live theatre in Abuja seems to be in a dead zone and in a bid to revive it and ensure that Abuja residents are not solely tied to going to the movies or point and kill fish gardens to eat fish and watch football, an Abuja based theatre company, Eagle view Arts Production has taken the bull by the horn to bring back live theatre with its debut production ‘Her Majesty’s Visit.’
The stage play which was written by Onukaba Adinoyi Ojo will star award winning actress Joke Silva, and upcoming stars Najite Dede and Patrick Otoro. Giving an overview to the project, the play’s producer
Patrick Otoro (who also stars acts in the play) said that this will be an
ongoing development and will feature a different play after every two months.
“With the live theatres, you would experience what you ordinarily would not
have experienced with movies because there is some connection with the
performances when you come to live theatre which is what we hope to bring to
bear” he said.
