KRUMP STUDIOS BRINGS TO YOU “EXPRESSIONS OF THE SOUL” 28TH OF AUGUST 2016
“A contemporary Dance Experience Choreographed by Mima Angulu and Qudus Onikeku In 2013, the krump dance studios brought to the Abuja Stage for the first time “Grease the Naija Mix”,A Well attended musical production that featured 30 dancers leaping into a professional career and into the lime light. The goal of Krump studios through its productions has always been to bring to center stage a different stream of employment for youth using the tool of dance and expose the audience to an alternative form of art and entertainment.
This Time Jemima Angulu (the creative director of Krump Studios and the Producer of Grease: The Naija Mix) Teams up with World renowned choreographer Qudus Onikeku with the support of Klaze the film Maker , Hertx & Watts company and the French Institute to Create the perfect blend of Contemporary Art. Expressions of the soul seeks to showcase on stage the struggles and experiences of the average youth i.e pain, Passion,
The need for Connection, The struggle to become someone and the importance of the choices they make. Expressions of the soul will be danced by fantastic experienced dance artists : Miracle Nelson , Bukunmi Olukitibi, Tabitha Anthony, Lea Marianne and Young dancers who have been receiving Training at Krump studios ; Praise Ayodele, Alli Suleiman, Sharon Adams , Promise Louis and David Nosiri. Since Inception in 2011, The Krump Dance Studios has empowered over 150 dancers through education and performing
programs. The studio gives a platform and teaches dancers how to turn passion into skill and value.
